From Radio Kurier magazine (published by ADDX and AGDX in Germany) we learn about the permanent arrangements made for the Danish Shortwave Clubs International ("DSWCI") website. Founded in 1956, for many decades, DSWCI was arguably the most international listening community in the world, with members and readers from dozens of countries on all continents. Unfortunately, the association was dissolved at the end of 2016,but the website remained accessible until the beginning of 2025, when it was shut down. The ADDX webmaster, Andreas Volk, together with the then DSWCI webmaster, Rolf Wernli, uploaded the entire former DSWCI website to the ADDX server, thus preserving it for posterity. It can be accessed either via the menu on the left side of the ADDX web- site under "Archive" and then "DSWCI Homepage," or by directly entering Thanks to Andreas and Rolf would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their commitment ! This also means that 16 German public radio programs will have to be discontinued. Which ones these will be depends on the decision-making bodies of the respective broadcasters and the legis- lators in the federal states. Public debates have long since begun. At Cosmo, WDR felt compelled to issue the following press release on June 5, 2025: "At the moment, all state broadcasters in the ARD are exa- mining their options for complying with the requirements of the reform treaty. A decision on how WDR intends to set up its radio waves in detail will only be made after this review process. With regard to Cosmo, we can say that we do not want to shut down Cosmo, but rather develop it further. This is because we can see from its reach that we have not yet exhausted the program's potential. At the same time, it is important to us to continue to appeal to people with a migration background - after all, they make up a third of the population in North Rhine-Westphalia. Thanks to the outstanding service provided by the makers of Shortwave Gold and shortwaveradio.de, who gave us the opportunity to celebrate this unique comeback of RTI via their transmitters! The station was active on various pirate radio frequencies from 1975 to 2000 - some old-timers may still remember this - and is now celebrating its unique comeback on shortwave exactly 50 years after its broadcasting launch in August 1975. In the first 25 years of its existence, RTI broadcast more than 250 times with its own transmitters and those of its friends, and sent out more than 1,500 printed QSL cards during that time. In addition to a current programme segment, there will be a retrospec- tive of RTI's station history, as well as various recordings from almost all of the DJs who were hired on the broadcasting ship TITANIC at the time. The program blocks will be in German, English, Swedish, and Spanish, among others, hosted by all the DJs who contributed announcements and programmes in the years before the millennium. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our friends and many helpers; without your enthusiasm, this project would never have survived 25 years! Station founder Mark Brown welcomes every response. There is only one contact option, and only this one, via email: This address will be closed at the end of 2025. Please note: All other postal and email addresses listed in the various broadcast blocks have been invalid for more than 25 years! Printed QSL cards will also no longer be available ! But of course, an eQSL will be issued for accurate, detailed reception reports of at least 15 minutes. Reception observations via SDR world receivers are also welcome. However, please do not send us "Man sings - speech - woman sings - speech reports." Unfortunately, we cannot do anything with that, and these re- ports will not be responded to. Details are requested, including short audio/video recordings of up to 3MB in size or 2 minutes per report. Unfortunately, our server cannot handle more than that ! Please compress the files. Please also note that due to vacation, we will not respond to emails until late fall or winter 2025. We therefore sincerely ask listeners to be patient and not to file complaints after a few days or weeks. It's pointless ! General criticism of the programs is, of course, very welcome and en- couraged. We wish all old and new listeners uninterrupted reception, good enter- tainment, and lots of fun listening. This morning I received an e-QSL for my letter and report to RRI dated last February (and I did not even request one !) They tell me that they have only just received the new designs for this year and are in the process of clearing the backlog of listener reports. A new'card' will be issued every two months. Now at least they are filling out the reception data themselves, although it means more work for their correspondence section. The Berlin-based GmbH was founded by Maxim Kurnikov and other journalists from 'Echo Moskvy' and operates the Inter- net radio station Echo as a successor program. Echo Moskvy was the first non-state media outlet in the Soviet Union in 1990. Two events in its early days shaped its self-image and internatio- nal reputation as a free broadcaster: the attack by Soviet troops on the parliaments and broadcasters in the Baltic states (January 1991) and the attempted coup by conservative forces against President Gorbachev (August 1991). When working conditions for independent media became increasingly diffi- cult in the 2000s, Gazprom's umbrella was supposed to provide some protec- tion, but in the end it was Gazprom that wound up the station in 2022 against the will of its staff.
