From a letter from Konstantin Chernushenko: "...The US Postal Service still does not deliver correspondence to Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, which is why we have to send cards with someone who is flying to Russia. The third card is just a postcard from Alaska; sometimes we "turn"ordinary postcards into cards and send them to listeners. A long time ago, Mike Osborne (who was the head of the English department) told me that he did this sometimes and the students were very happy with such cards,so I some- times do it too. The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan adopted a resolution on amendments to the structure of the Closed Joint Stock Company "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting". Vesti.az reports that according to the new changes, the structure of the CJSC includes TV channels AZTV, Medeniyyet TV, Idman TV, as well as radio stations Azerbaycan Radiosu and Azerbaycan Beynelxalq Radiosu. Earlier the structure of Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting CJSC included various departments, directorates, divisions and subdivisions. The main purpose of the changes is to optimise the work and improve co- ordination between different departments. These changes are taking place against the background of the government's general desire to modernise and improve the state media. Inclusion of popular channels and radio stations in the structure of CJSC indicates the intention to strengthen the state presence in the media sphere and to ensure more coherent work of all de- partments. Vasileios Tzounaras in seinem Studio. Let us recall that two weeks ago the Kazakh media reported another sign of this trend: the Vice Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, Kanat Iskakov, announced that Soviet cartoons would be translated into Kazakh: "Kazakhstan wants to provide children with age-appropriate content in the Kazakh language, so it was decided to translate Soviet cartoons." The offi- cial clarified that the translated cartoons will appear on Kazakh social networks. Other reports: "Lucio Otavio Bobrowiec, 3945 kHz, R. Vanuatu, VUT; June 25, 0928-0937 UT YL, OM. 35333, 7890 kHz, 11835 kHz off/inaudible (LOB). S=9+5dB on Edmonton, AB-CAN" EiBi still shows 9960 kHz but at 2300-0458 UT only. Then 7260 kHz at 0458- 1105 & 1959-2259 UT; but also 3945 kHz at 0458-1105 & 1845-1959 UT. Aoki shows 3945 kHZ at 0600-1000 & 1900-2000 UT; 5040 kHz at 2000-2400 UT; 5055 kHz at 2100-0100 UT; 7260 kHz at 0000-0559 UT; and no others. Yet different info in HFCC database: the very first entry is VUT on 2485 kHz at 1000-1900 UT; 3945 kHz at 0600-1100 & 1900-2000 UT; 5040 kHz at 2100-0100 UT; 7260 kHz at 2000-0700UT; 9960 kHz at 2300-0700 UT; all daily for the entire A24 season. RNZ has filed those frequencies for them as they also do for Solomon Islands. Vanuatu have only one 10 kW transmitter, so much of these skeds must be taken as possible alternatives.
